Who is Hopewell Baptist Church?
We are a church who believes in the one true God, the creator of the Universe who governs all things according to the purpose of His will. We believe the Holy Bible is inspired by God and is infallible truth. We believe in the trinity, the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit and that salvation through Jesus Christ is only available through faith.
We have been an established place of worship for over 100 years in the Cherokee Falls community of Blacksburg, SC.

JD Wilson
PASTOR
Pastor JD came to Hopewell in April 2024. He has been in the ministry since January 2012. He has an Associate In Religious Studies from the Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary and is completing his Masters of Ministry currently with Covington Theological Seminary. He is married to the love of his life, Hope and they have three children, Trey, Zayden and Asher. Pastor JD states “I am excited about leading Hopewell Baptist Church to make disciples in Blacksburg SC and beyond.”
Camden Clark
Youth Pastor
Camden graduated High School a year ago and has felt the call to go into ministry. He is attending North Greenville University but still makes time to minister and feed into our youth. We are very thankful to have Camden with us at HBC
Angie Moss
Ministry Assistant
Angie serves as our full time ministry assistant at Hopewell Baptist Church. Before becoming the full time assistant she served the church part time while also working as a teacher’s assistant. She has served as Hopewell’s Ministry Assistant for 39 years. She is married to her husband Tony and has two daughters and 3 grandsons.
Sonia Penington
Music Minister
Not long after Sonia and her husband Randy joined the church family at Hopewell, they began serving. Sonia is blessed with musical capabilities so of course they found a place for her in our music ministry. Sonia is now serving as our Music Minister where she leads worship, choir, youth choir and children's choir. Sonia has a heart for Jesus and wants to assure all things point to Him!
